Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech) is Manitoba’s largest applied learning and research institute.

The Opportunity

RRC Polytech is committed to providing a world-class web experience to current and prospective students. With a massive portfolio of courses associated with more than 200 full- and part-time degree, diploma, and certificate options, the RRC Polytech website needed an enhanced program selection feature to assist students’ ability to administer their programs.

The Solution

Relish’s Development Team embarked upon a user-centred discovery process to find the best way forward to building the new program selection functionality of RRC Polytech’s website. The Development Team executed a thorough user experience (UX) testing plan across a series of website wireframes for the program selection feature.

After two thorough rounds of first click, card sort, and guided click-through testing, the Development Team formatted the user data into a summarized client providing important takeaways and insights, ultimately directing the project’s design phase.

At the project’s conclusion, RRC Polytech’s website provided features, tools and processes driven by real-world user feedback, delivering the best possible experience for its students.

Besides affording its students better control over managing their courses, the new section also benefited RRC Polytech while also decreasing the administrative burden of supporting functions better served by technology.
