Supply Chain User Experience Testing

The Background

For 100 years, Supply Chain Canada (SCC) has been the country’s largest association for supply chain professionals and the industry’s voice. It sets the standards for excellence and ethics and is the principal source of professional development and accreditation in supply chain management in Canada.

With over 7,500 members, SCC represents the wider profession that includes supply chain roles such as sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory, transportation, distribution, operations, sustainability, replenishment, and contract management.

The Opportunity

The local chapter of SCC, Manitoba, provides supply chain professionals with support services, training, and professional development opportunities.

SCC, Manitoba approached Relish seeking help with developing a practical supply chain mapping application for their members to enhance training.

Before going into production, SCC, Manitoba first wanted to conduct research to identify gaps in the web application’s user experience that could restrict navigation and the tool’s overall effectiveness.

The Solution

Relish’s Development Team collaborated with an advisory group from SCC, Manitoba, to develop a wireframe prototype for the supply chain mapping web application.

Self-driven user experience testing on the wireframe prototype was employed to identify navigation issues and other obstacles that could restrict usage. The testing exercise’s heat map and user flow data results informed the development team on optimizing the application’s design.

As a result of this collaborative exercise with Relish, SSC, Manitoba, successfully launched a fully optimized, robust supply chain mapping tool for its membership.
